What is IEMT (Integral Eye Movement Therapy)?

Updated: Apr 18, 2023

Integral Eye Movement Therapy (IEMT) is a rapid therapeutic tool used for transformation, this technique utilises simple eye movements and questioning techniques to change a particular thought pattern that may be problematic. IEMT techniques help to create change by rapidly reducing unwanted feelings to help you to resolve issues.

After completing the Integral Eye Movement Therapy (IEMT) training and then successfully completing the required case studies. I am so pleased to add this to my toolbox of therapeutic modalities to support clients in their healing journeys.

IEMT is powerful for unraveling unresolved memories from the past that we are either conscious or unconsciously carrying, and affecting the here and now, life, relationships, and internal and external world.

Integral Eye Movement Therapy (IEMT) is an effective therapy for Adults and children with a wide range of therapeutic applications.

Anxiety Depression Challenging emotions like overwhelm, anger, grief, fear Phobias Trauma - PTSD - CPTSD Limiting self-beliefs Dyslexia Letting go of the past

IEMT can create rapid change, allowing you to free yourself and move forward from the past and into a healthier, happier future.

IEMT was developed by Andrew T. Austin and is used in many countries around the world. Eye movements and careful questioning are employed to rapidly process and discharge uncomfortable reactions to memories and change unhelpful beliefs and emotional imprints (ie how we have learned to feel or be a certain way).

Moving the eyes along different axes whilst focussing on the memory or emotion accesses the different parts of the brain where those memories and emotions are stored. This, when carried out in a calm, relaxed state in a safe space, prevents the previous overwhelm in the brain, freeing it, to process the memories and change the emotional attachment to them.

You are not required to go into lots of detail about your issue/problem if you prefer the sessions can be content-free. The session will explore some key questions that help us to identify the core elements to change. This allows you to step out of the loop and into a new way of being free of distress and unhelpful reactions. To find out more read here.
